Man to Die in Ogun for Killing Suspected Lover of His Wife

A man is to die by hanging in Ogun state for killing a suspected lover of his wife.

The convict, Adeleke Bara, was convicted on Monday by an Ogun state high court sitting in Ayetoro for shooting to death one Olaleye Oke on May 1, 2018 at Ayetoro.

The convict, who has three wives, according to the prosecutor, Miss. T.O Adeyemi, committed the crime at about 6pm in Afodan farm settlement at Ijoun Aiyetoro.

The prosecutor told the court that the deceased was on his farm when the convict met him and accused him of having an illicit affair with one of his wife.

He then fired a gunshot into the head of the deceased which led to his death.

Justice Patricia Oduniyi, in her judgement, held that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt that Adeleke Bara was guilty of the crime.

She sentenced him to death by hanging.
