NLC Boycott Sunday’s Dialogue On New Petrol Pricing As TUC Presidency Meet Again  Today

Nigeria labour congress ( NLC ) boycotted Sunday’s continued dialogue between the organized labour and the federal government on the new petrol pricing template.

Nigeria’s senior worker apex union, trade union congress (TUC) however attended the meeting,

NLC insisted on its planned nationwide strike as from Wednesday, except the new template is reversed.

Although the Sunday dialogue was inconclusive, the TUC  president Festus Osifo told newsmen after the meeting that some progress was made to address the demand of the organized labour.

The dialogue, according to the TUC continues today for the harmonization of proposals made by both side during the sunday’s meeting.

Osifo explained that the federal government agreed to set up a tripartite committee of government, labour and private sector for an immediate wage review

He also said that tuc demanded tax holiday for some categories of workers and the reversal of the new petrol pricing template.

Former lagos state information commissioner, Aele Alake speaking on behalf of the federal government’s delegation said,

one major demands by labour during the talks was a wage review.
