NLC Major Organs Meet Today Over The Petrol Subsidy Removal

Major organs of the Nigeria Labour Congress ( NLC ) are  to meet today in Abuja, ahead of further talks with federal government over the new pricing template for petrol.

Nigerian national petroleum company limited last Tuesday, announced the new pricing template, which raised the new average pump price of petrol at n500

Today, the central working committee of the congress, would meet to take decision on the next line of action for the organized labour on the new pump price.

Later in the day, the committee would submit its report to the national executive council of the congress for ratification.

The ratified decision would form the basis of the minimum position of the organized labour, during the resumption of negotiations with the presdency on Sunday.

Last Wednesday, the talks convened by the presidency with the organized labour over the new pump price collapsed

after labour leaders insisted on the immediate withdrawal of the new pricing template.
