Lekki deep seaport project is nearing completion and expected to become operational before January 2023.
In September this year, the facility which is Nigeria’s first deep seaport will undergo a test run and receive commercial vessels.
Transportation minister, Rotimi Amaechi, announced this while conducting president Buhari round the project after commissioning the 42.5 billion Dangote fertilizer plant in the axis.
The minister said additional 1,000 hectare of land is still required for the project, explaining that would lead to the relocation of about 5,000 residents in the axis.
Meanwhile, Buhari had directed that the seaport be connected to the railway network.
