NDLEA destroys 7.5 Hectare Cannabis Farm, Seize 100 Jumbo Bags during Raid in Ogun
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have destroyed Indian hemp cultivated on a 7.55 hectares of farmland in Ogun State.
The anti-narcotic agency puts the weight of the Indian hemp destroyed in the farm at 18.875 tones.
NDLEA also said its operatives recovered 100 jumbo bags of the illicit drug during a raid at James town at Ogunmakin, in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.
The raid according to NDLEA was carried out by NDLEA operatives, last Monday with troops, policemen, as well as, operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) and Amotekun Corps.
The agency said seven persons, including one Okpor Chukwuma found in the farm were arrested during the raid.

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA), have arrested a notorious drug dealer, 45-year-old Godwin Emuneyin, who is physically challenged and uses his wheelchair as cover to deal in illicit substances such as methamphetamine and cannabis in Afuze, headquarters of Owan East local government area of Edo state.
In a weekly report signed by the agency’s Director, Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, yesterday in Abuja, the suspect was arrested on Tuesday 7th November at his base in Afuze following credible intelligence.
As at the time of his arrest, a wooden box used to conceal illicit substances including 18 pinches of methamphetamine, one block and 71 wraps of cannabis, was recovered from him.
In Edo state, the NDLEA on 6th November recovered 42 bags of cannabis weighing 480kgs from a camp in Aviosi forest in Owan West LGA, while 231 kgs of the same substance was seized in another raid in Utese forest in Ovia North East LG.A was also raided same day with 231.5k and a cannabis farm measuring 0.778960 hectare destroyed.
