Kano Governor Appoints 138 Special Reporters as Media Aides

Governor Abbah Yusuf of Kano State has appointed more media aides into his cabinet. He appointed 94 social media influencers as special reporters and special reporters.

The governor’s chief press secretary, Sanusi Bature, announced the fresh appointments in a statement issued on Wednesday.

Earlier, the governor had appointed 44 Senior Special Reporters and Special Reporters, raising the number of the governor’s media aides to 138, apart from the Chief Press Secretary and the information commissioner.

The Governor also appointed 200 Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Assistants.

The chief press secretary said the appointments of the 138 special reporters and senior special reporters aims at promoting accessibility to information as a prelude to improving good governance.

Two of the special reporters are to be posted to each of the state’s ministries, departments and agencies.

“In tandem with the commitment of his administration to promote accessibility to information as a prelude to improving good governance in the state, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved the appointment of additional Senior Special Reporters (SSRs) and Special Reporters (SRs).

“While congratulating the new appointees, His Excellency urges them to discharge their responsibility by the ethics of media and digital communication, Mr Bature said in the statement.
