FUNAAB Commences Its 31st Convocation Ceremony

Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has commenced its 31st Convocation Ceremony.

It started last Friday with a Jumat Prayer at the university’s mosque, followed by an interdenominational Christian Service on Sunday at the University’s Chapel of Grace.

On Friday, January 26, there will be a convocation lecture to be delivered by the secretary general of the committee of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, Professor Yakubu Ochefu.

The activities will be rounded off on Saturday, January 27, with the award of first and higher degrees, post-graduate diplomas, and honorary degrees.

The academic zenith of the convocation week is undoubtedly the Convocation Lecture scheduled for Friday, January 26, 2024.

Distinguished scholar Prof. Yakubu Ochefu, the Secretary-General of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU), is poised to deliver a captivating lecture titled From Baby Boomers to Generation Alpha: Interrogating Generational Dynamics and Agriculture Education in Nigeria.

The Lecture, set to transpire at the Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building at 3:00 p.m., promises an insightful exploration of critical themes.

Culminating this week-long jubilation will be the highly anticipated Award of First and Higher Degrees, Postgraduate Diploma, and Honorary Degrees on Saturday, January 27, 2024.

The  Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building will serve as the grand stage for this momentous occasion, commencing at 10:00 a.m. Graduates, dignitaries, and esteemed guests will converge to celebrate the academic accomplishments of the university’s distinguished individuals.

In a noteworthy announcement, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Morufat Dawodu, the Acting Registrar of FUNAAB, expressed her fervent enthusiasm for the vibrant week ahead.
