Man Strangles Wife To Death During Scuffle In Ogun

A 51 year old man, Oluranti Badejo, has allegedly beaten his 40 year old wife, Folashade Badejo, to death in Ogun State.

Police had evacuated the body of the woman from their matrimonial home at seven Madam Felicia street, Ormerunmu in Mowe, to a hospital in Sagamu, for post-mortem examination.

Police say that preliminary investigations into the incident, shows that the suspect now in their custody, strangled his wife to death during a scuffle over a minor disagreement.

Spokesman of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, says that the suspect’s eight year old daughter, who witnessed the scuffle, told the police that her mother was strangled by her father.

Oyeyemi says the suspect after realizing that his wife was dead, used hot pressing iron to burn parts of his wife’s body to appear as if she was electrocuted.

The state police commissioner, Lanre Bankole, has directed the transfer of the suspect to the homicide section of the state police command in Abeokuta.
