Diezani Allison Madueke Charged With Bribery Offence, To Appear In UK Court

British police say they have charged former Petroleum Resources Minister, Diezani Allison Madueke, with bribery offences while serving in the Jonathan administration.

The UK National Crime Agency said it suspected she had accepted bribes in return for awarding multi-million-dollar oil and gas contracts.

UK national crime agency said she would appear in a London court on October 2.

She had been on bail since her first arrest in London in October 15, after fleeing into exile.

The head of the NCA’s International Corruption Unit, Andy  Kelly, said in a statement, they  suspect Diezani alison-Madueke abused her power in Nigeria and accepted financial rewards for awarding multi-million pound contracts.”

The NCA said Alison Madueke allegedly benefited from at least $127,000 in cash, chauffeur-driven cars, flights on private jets, luxury holidays for her family, and the use of multiple London properties.

Alison Madueke has been living in the upmarket Saint John ’s wood area in London since she was first arrested.
