Atiku Says Vested Interests Delaying Ending Of Boko Haram War

The PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has said that vested interests are prolonging the Anti-Boko Haram war in the north east region.

The vested interests, according to the PDP candidates, include politics and business, which he alleged are delaying the end of the war.

Atiku speaking at a town hall meeting in Abuja, said there is nothing like the Sambisa forest regarded as the stronghold of Boko Haram, because there is no forest in Borno State.

According to him, he was familiar with all the terrain of the north east and Borno State as a former officer of the Nigeria Customs Service.

In Borno State, Atiku said  the terrain was a vast land of shrubs with no forests, thereby no place  for insurgents to hide.

Atiku also said his admnistration would undertake restructuring and the devolution of power to prevent Nigeria from going into another civil war.

The presidential candidate said Nigeria cannot afford another civil war over the unending separatist agitations in every parts of the country.

He, however, said the agitation in the south east for the actualization of Biafran Republic may not be feasible for now.

Atiku asks south east region to form alliances with other parts of the country to be more politically relevant in the scheme of things in Nigeria.
