APC Rules Out Consensus Mode for Its Presidential Primaries

The APC national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu has ruled out the consensus mode of primaries to pick the presidential candidate of the party for the 2023 poll.

According to him, the consensus mode of primaries is not feasible for the party to adopt.

Adamu speaking on the Voice of America Hausa service, said that the chairmanship primaries is different from presidential primaries.

He dismissed reports that the party is planning to force aspirants to accept consensus mode of primaries.

According to him, the national working committee will scrutinize all the 28 presidential aspirants based on the party’s guidelines and pick the right candidate to fly its flag in the presidential poll.

At the end of the exercise, Adamu said all the aspirants know that only one of them would emerge as the APC candidate.

On the silence of the APC on the zone that will produce the presidential ticket, Adamu says the national working committee will know the way forward after screening of the aspirants.
