Armed Kidnappers Still Active on Ogun Section of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Armed kidnappers are still active on the Ogun State section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Many travelers are still being abducted unnoticed.

One of their latest victims, Bamipe Ojediran was abducted along with his wife and son, last November 12, at 5.40 pm, as they were traveling from Ibadan on their way to Lagos.

Ojediran who narrated his ordeal to Guardian newspapers, said he and his family regained their freedom last Tuesday, after the payment of ransom.

According to him, one Ojo Dauda and Mathew Akangbe were also abducted in a Nissan Coaster bus marked Lagos LND 395 YC the same day.

He said both Dauda and Akangbe were drivers of a bus that just conveyed worshippers to the four square camps in the axis.

The victim said while in detention, he learned that kidnapping was on a daily basis on the expressway.

Contacted spokesperson of the Ogun State police command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the kidnap of Ojediran and his family.

She explained that they were abducted by gunmen who emerged from the bush shooting sporadically, and took them hostage at bamboo pin down.

The spokesperson said they had been reunited with their family after they were released last Tuesday.
