Governor Dapo Abiodun has warned that he is the only governor in Ogun state.
He describes other persons parading themselves as governors, as impostors, who are doing macabre dance.
Abiodun also says it is amusing that some people are still falling prey to the unfounded rumour in the state that there is another governor.
The governor spoke in Abeokuta, while receiving the donations of vehicles and motorcycles from the leadership of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) to support his bid for a second term in office.
Abiodun said it is now clear to those he accused of being misled that there is only one governor in Ogun state.
The governor, however, said he will not be distracted by those he labelled as architects of confusion in the state and would continue to leave his doors open to those seeking constructive engagement with his administration.
He again assured all the APC aspirants who failed to win tickets to contest in the 2023 poll that they would be compensated.
According to him, for 26 tickets in the state house of assembly, 182 aspired to pick them, while 85 aspired to obtain tickets for the nine seats in the house of representatives.
Meanwhile, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has said that only former president Olusegun Obasanjo served Ogun state more than him since the return of the country to democracy in 1999.
He said they both built on the foundation laid by the founding fathers of the state.
Amosun, the immediate past Ogun state governor, stated this while addressing APC supporters from the state’s 20 local government areas at the Ake palace ground in Abeokuta on Thursday.
He asked APC members in the state to work for the victory of the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the 2023 polls.
According to him, Tinubu, if elected, would fix most of the challenges facing the country, including power, foreign exchange crisis, youth unemployment, and security.
Amosun recalled that he dropped his presidential ambition when northern state governors canvassed for power shift to the south.
Several members of his APC factions, including Senator Iyabo Anisulowo, a governorship aspirant, Barrister Biyi Otegbeye, Prince Adekunle Akinlade, as well as Senator Tolu Odebiyi attended the event.
From the Ake palace ground, amosun resorted to trekking, followed by hundreds of supporters to his family home at Totoro, before heading to his residence at Ibara GRA in a motorcade.
