Akeredolu Writes Ondo Assembly To Extend His Medical Leave Indefinitely

Ondo State House of Assembly has extended the medical leave of governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

The speaker of the House, Olamide Oladiji, announced this during the Monday plenary of the House, while reading a letter from the governor requesting for the extension of his medical leave.

In the letter, the governor said his request, followed the advice of doctors treating him that he should take more rest to recuperate.

Akeredolu told the House that his deputy, Lucky Ayedatiwa, should continue acting on his behalf, until he directed otherwise.

The speaker said the governor acted in compliance with section 190 of the constitution.

Akeredoly had notified the house through a letter dated June 5, 2023, that he intended to proceed on a medical leave, and would resume office on July 6.

It is evident that the state is functioning smoothly without hindrance during the governor’s absence.

“Although we miss his competent administrative decisions and interventions, we are confident in his imminent safe return.

“We call upon every citizen and resident of the state to continue to pray for our governor’s well-being.”
