Umar Sadiq Ends His Goal Drought in La Liga on Sunday

Umar Sadiq ended his goal drought in La Liga on Sunday, as Real Sociedad defeated Sevilla 2-1.

The last time the Nigeria international found the net in the Spanish top flight was September 3, 2022, before the Sunday match.

Umar ended a barren run of twelve consecutive La Liga matches without finding the back of the net after getting on the scoresheet in the 22nd minute against the Rojiblancos.

According to the official website of real Sociedad, Sadiq’s long-range beauty is ‘one of the best goals seen in the history of real arena’.

Overall, Sadiq logged 444 minutes spread across sixteen matches before ending his goal drought, comprising fourteen in La Liga and one apiece in the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Champions League and Copa Del Rey.
