Tinubu Writes NASS, Seeks Amendment Of The 2022 Supplementary Bill
President Bola Tinubu has written the National Assembly (NASS), seeking the amendment of the 2022 Supplementary Bill.
The amendment is to enable federal government, to source for N500 billion for the implementation of the proposed palliatives, to cushion the harsh effects of the petrol subsidy removal.
“I write to request the approval of the House of Representatives for an amendment of the 2022 Appropriation Act in accordance with the law.

“The request has become necessary in other to source for funds to provide necessary palliatives to cushion the effect of the recent removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria”.
The Speaker of House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abass, who read the letter during the Wednesday plenary, said President Bola Tinubu wants National Assembly to speedily consider his request.
The Speaker said the N500 billion was to be taken from the 2022 N819.5 billion supplementary bill.
Abass said the request would be deliberated upon during the Thursday plenary.
He asks members to be prepared to contribute to the deliberation.
