The Super Eagles of Nigeria has delivered an emphatic performance in a friendly match against a local club, in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

The match witnessed a stellar display from the Super Eagles, securing a resounding 12-0 victory over the Abu Dhabi-based side ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Displaying impressive teamwork, Peseiro’s troops reportedly showcased exceptional teamwork and dominance throughout the match.

Atalanta forward, Lookman, netted an impressive four goals, while Osimhen added two goals to the tally, contributing significantly to the team’s commanding victory.

Uzoho, standing tall in goal, ensured a clean sheet for the 2013 AFCON champions, showcasing remarkable saves and confidence ahead Of Super Eagles AFCON 2023 matches.

The goal fest continued with Simon and Umar joining the scoring spree with two goals each, further sparking the Super Eagles’ morale ahead of the tournament.

Both Iwobi and Osayi Samuel did not start the game, but they were impressed when they were introduced to the fray.

A late replacement for injured Wilfred Ndidi, Alhassan Yusuf also saw action as he played the last 15 minutes of today’s match, which was played behind closed doors at the Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the statement read.

It added that the NPFL lone representative Olorunleke Ojo will later replace Francis Uzoho, who started in goal.

Enyimba shot stopper Ojo kept out a penalty to ensure a clean sheet for the team.

It added that Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface and South Africa-based goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali did not see action as they were probably rested ahead of the Guinea clash.

The 34th edition of the AFCON is expected to kick off on January 13 and end on February 11.
