Soyinka Calls for Public Holiday For Traditionalists
The Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka, has asked federal government to consider a public holiday for adherents of traditional religions in the country.
Soyinka made the call as part of activities marking his eighty ninth birthday anniversary.
Also, Traditionalists, according to Soyinka, who had for long been neglected in Nigeria now deserve an annual holiday like Muslems and Christians.
However, he said that traditionalists have had enough of being treated like second class citizens in their country.
The famed playwright is already at loggerhead with the Emir of Ilorin who warned the organizers of traditional religion festival from going ahead with the planned festival in Ilorin.
