Sogunle Faults Labour Party Zonal Agitation For Ogun State Governorship

Ogun State Labour Party governorship candidate, Kehinde Sogunle, has faulted zonal agitation for the state governorship.

Sogunle said what the state requires are governorship candidates who have ideas, programmes and capacity, to tap the potential of the state for development of the state.

The Labour candidate, speaking during a Rockcity FM programme “daybreak show” said no candidate could use a sectional agenda to win governorship poll in the state.

He asks people in the state  to discard ‘Awalokan’ mentality of its three zones and emulate voters in Lagos State, who always voted for candidates who have capacity to further develop the state.

On the crisis in the state chapter of the party, Sogunle said moves are ongoing to reposition the party to play the role of effective opposition.

For now, he said the party has decided to work with the state People Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu, which according to him, share similar programmes with Labour Party in the state.

He also said that the caretaker committee constituted by the National Working Committee is still running the party in the state, until a congress is held to elect a new executive committee.

He also clarified that Abayomi Arabambi remains suspended from the party, until the National Executive Council of the party meet to decide his faith and others who are undermining the party at the national level.
