Rivers United Beats Lobi Starts 1-0 in the Ongoing NPL
Rivers United halted Lobi Stars unbeaten run in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) this season, edging out the visitors 1-0 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.
In Ibadan, shooting stars continued their impressive form, handing Doma United a 3-1 defeat.
Nelson Abiam silenced the home fans when he gave Doma United the lead in the ninth minute.
Gbologade Adelowo restored parity for Shooting Stars from the penalty spot late in the first half.
Kareem Ayinde and Gideon Monday scored the other goals for the home team.

Before yesterday’s match, the ‘Pride of Benue,’ as Lobi Stars are called, had won two and drawn two matches to remain unbeaten in the 2023/2024 season.
They had won at home against Sunshine Stars and Abia Warriors at their adopted home ground in Lafia and drawn away at Heartland and Katsina United.
However, Rivers United youngster, Alex Oyowah, scored the only goal of the match in the 42nd minute to destroy Lobi Stars’ enviable record.
In the Oriental Derby, Abia Warriors defeated Heartland 1-0, with Meme Okike scoring the decisive goal in the eighth minute.
