Osun Set to Recruit 5,000 Teachers for Public Schools Across the State

Osun state government has approved the recruitment of five thousand teachers at public schools across the state.

Also, 250 education officers are to be employed to fill the vacancies in the State Teaching Service Commission.

The State Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Olawale Rasheed, announced this in a statement issued in Osogbo.

He explained that the planned massive recruitment of teachers followed the conclusion of the need assessment conducted across public schools in the state last year.

Also, the state Commissioner for Education, Dipo Eluwole, had in an interactive session with journalists in 2022, revealed that the state was ready to recruit new teachers into the state’s public schools.

Eluwole had revealed that the state was planning to convoke an education summit at which recommendation would be implemented.

According to the statement, The Council noted that the approval for the recruitment of teachers follows the conclusion of the need assessment which the Governor ordered last year.

The Council directed that the Ministry of Education should fast track the process of recruitment to strengthen the education system.
