The nomination of candidates for the post of speakership was interrupted several times, compelling the clerk of the Assembly to call the lawmakers to order.

The inauguration initially scheduled for Tuesday last week was shifted at the last minute without any reason.

The sudden shift was strongly criticized by the nine People’s Democratic Party (PDP) opposition members in the 26 member House.
