NPA Approves Export Processing Terminal in Ogun State

The Nigeria Port Authority has approved an export processing terminal in Ogun State, specifically for AIM Logistics Limited along the Lagos-Sagamu Expressway.

This new terminal will facilitate the handling of export-bound cargoes destined for the country’s seaports.

Mohammed Bello-Koko, the Managing Director of the NPA, mentioned during a visit that the approval was granted to support the Federal Government’s export initiatives.

In a statement issued by AIM Logistics, the company has transformed into a hub where export-bound cargoes undergo seamless processing, starting from their source and culminating in shipment to overseas destinations.

This terminal is highly regarded by both Nigerian and expatriate exporters and importers.

The NPA inspection team was impressed by the facilities available at the company.

Jide Adeleye, the terminal manager, emphasized their ambition to become the world’s premier export terminal.

He praised the outstanding facilities at the location and expressed confidence in AIM Terminal’s ability to meet the highest global standards in cargo and logistics operations.

Adeleye also commended the NPA for their approval and assured that AIM Export Terminal would uphold its commitment to serving the country and the maritime sector with excellence.

The Managing Director of the NPA, Mohammed Bello-Koko, stated that the approval of AIM EPT was in line with the government’s economic diversification program, which aims to address the logistic challenges in the export supply chain.

Bello-Koko said, “This approval of AIM Logistics Limited as an Export Processing Terminal (EPT) is intended to further support the implementation of the government’s economic diversification program, which aims to address the logistics challenges inherent in the export supply chain in collaboration with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council and other relevant agencies. I am pleased to inform you that the management hereby grants approval for Messrs AIM Logistics Limited to operate as an Export Processing Terminal (EPT).”

LEADERSHIP reported that Bello-Koko had previously stated at a media forum in Lagos that EPTs would serve as a pre-gate, particularly for agro exports, where pre-shipment sorting, stuffing, processing, sealing, and certification would take place.

He noted that EPTs would reduce costs for exporters, shorten export processing time, and make the process faster and more efficient.
