Nigeria’s super falcons have been ranked the tenth best team at the just concluded 2023 FIFA women’s world cup.

The nine-time African champions were unbeaten in the group stage finishing second behind co-hosts Australia.

Super falcons were, however, eliminated in the round of 16, losing 4-2 on penalties to the three lionesses of England.

In the new FIFA ranking, super falcons are ranked ahead of Germany and Brazil, and are the best ranked African team in the competition.

The top ten ranking is led by winners Spain, followed by England, Sweden, Australia, Japan, France, Netherlands, Colombia, USA, and Nigeria.

The Super Falcons are the highest-ranked team from Africa in the competition. Morocco are ranked 12th, reigning African champion South Africa are 16th, and Zambia are 25th.
