NDLEA Operatives Discover Cannabis Shipment in a Truck in Ogun State                                       

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) had found a huge consignment of cannabis in a truck in Ogun state.

169 kilograms of cannabis was found last Thursday in the truck which was abandoned at the Sagamu toll gate.

NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, who made this known on Sunday said, the drug weighed 169 kilograms.

The interception was the sixth that will happen in the state since January this year.

The largest seizure this year was the 1,961.5 kilograms of compressed cannabis last February 5.

The cannabis which was being conveyed from Ogun state, was intercepted by NDLEA operatives along Abaji-Abuja road.

Earlier on January 6, 176 kilograms of cannabis was intercepted by troops at Imeko on a patrol along Imeko-Abeokuta road.

Later on January 14, troops also intercepted 296 jumbo wraps of cannabis at Balogun border with Benin Republic in Ogun West.

The drug was seized aboard a sienna bus, from members of a transnational drug syndicate.

Also, NDLEA operatives seized 57 kilograms of cannabis, and 231 bottles of tramadol syrup at Magboro.

Three days later, two women were arrested in Ifo with 13 kilograms of cannabis.
