NCS Gives Kudos to Businesses in Ogun for Prompt Payment of Taxes

Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has given kudos to business owners in Ogun state for prompt payment of taxes to the federal government.

The controller of the Nigeria Customs Service Command 2 in Abeokuta, Olusola Bisi Alade said among the states he has been posted to, Ogun state is still the best in terms of dedication to payment of tax.

The controller, speaking at a news conference in Abeokuta, on Tuesday, identified the major problem facing business owners in Ogun state as inadequate social amenities.

According to the comptroller, since he assumed duty in the state three months ago, he had several companies in the state and noted that poor supply of electricity and deplorable roads are affecting their operations.

He also said the rising prices of foreign exchange have compelled companies in the state to reduce their production level, with some of them considering laying off some of their workforce or relocating from the country.

The customs comptroller said four companies have been sanctioned in the state because they are operating without registration.

He lists the companies as Glamour Foods & Consult (NIG) LTD, Abraham & Sarah Beverages (NIG) LTD, Cafro Group of Company, and Sprout & Kings (NIG) LTD.

He listed the total revenue generated through tax in September and October as four billion, six hundred and twenty-seven million, fifty-four thousand, four hundred and fifty-one naira, six nine kobo.
