NBA Offers Free Legal Service To INEC For Prosecution Of 2023 Polls Offenders

Nigeria Bar Association ( NBA ) offers free legal services to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the prosecution of suspected electoral offenders arrested during the 2023 polls.

They were arrested for various offenses, including illegal possession of weapons, political thuggery, stealing of sensitive electoral material,snatching of ballot boxes, destruction of electoral materials.

INEC chairman, Prof Mahmoud Yakubu, announced the offer during the monitory review forum on human rights organized by the national human rights commission in Abuja.

He said that out of 774 suspected offenders arrested during the polls, police have handed the case files of 215 out of them to INEC for prosecution.
