Power Blackout Looms In Ogun As TCN Moves To Disconnect IBED From Grid
Total electricity outage looms in Ogun State, as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is set to disconnect the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBED) from the national power grid.
The electricity distribution company also said the looming outage will be extended to its other franchise areas in Kwara, Osun, Oyo, parts of Niger, Kogi and Niger states
The IBED chief executive officer, Eng Kingsley Achife, in a statement, asks consumers in ogun and the six other states, to brace for total power black out as from June.
He explained that the transmission company plans to disconnect his company from the national grid, due to poor remittance for power supplied.

According tohim, IBED has been unable to meet its financial obligations, due to poor payment and huge unpaid bills by consumers, in the franchise areas of the electricity distribution company.
He warned that failure to settle electricity bills would resultsin disruption of power to homes, communities and businesses in the seven states.
