Keke Palmer Files Restraining Order against Baby Daddy over Domestic Abuse

Keke Palmer, the American actress, and singer, has taken legal action against her baby’s father, Darius Jackson, seeking a restraining order and full custody of their infant son.

Filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court on November 9, 2023, and obtained by USA TODAY, the legal documents detail numerous accounts of physical violence perpetrated by Jackson.

Palmer describes him as “unhinged, volatile, and dangerous to both me and our son,” citing instances of physical and emotional abuse.

Fresh footage from the CCTV reveals multiple instances of him laying hands on her.

The filed documents provide a harrowing account of the abuse, including incidents where Jackson hit her in the presence of their son, destroyed her personal belongings, threw her possessions onto the street, and prevented her from leaving by taking her car keys.

The abuse extended to threats of self-harm if she attempted to end the relationship, trespassing into her home without consent, and physically attacking her.

Palmer testified that Jackson had trespassed, threatened, and physically assaulted her, emphasizing that this pattern of abuse had persisted for the past two years.

Accompanying the legal filings are security camera stills as evidence, now circulating on the internet. Palmer has requested a restraining order requiring Jackson to stay at least 100 yards away from her and their eight-month-old son.

Furthermore, she seeks full custody without visitation rights due to concerns about Jackson’s temper in the child’s presence.

Importantly, she explicitly states that she does not require child support from him.

In addition to the restraining order, Palmer appeals to the court to prevent Jackson from making public comments about her, her family, or their son online.

She proposes that he complete a 52-week batterer intervention program.

The singer attributes her newfound confidence to end the relationship to the support of her son, particularly in the aftermath of online drama following her attendance at Usher’s concert.
