Israel Hits More Gaza Targets, Warns Operation May Last Months

Israel says it hit 320 more targets in the Gaza strip, while Palestinian authorities say homes were hit “without warning”.

Israel’s Defense Minister says the campaign could take “one month, two months, and three months”.

The minister however assured that at the end of the operation, there will be no more Hamas”.

He also hints at a ground attack – but says before Hamas “meets face Israeli tanks and infantry, they will suffer from the shells from the air force”.

The Israeli military says a soldier was killed inside the Gaza strip while carrying out a raid.

The United Nation (UN) agency for Palestinian refugees says the situation in Southern Gaza is so bad, people are returning north – despite Israeli military warnings.

A total of 4,651 people have been killed in Gaza since the conflict broke out on 7 October, the territory’s health ministry has said.

The ministry, which is controlled by Hamas, said in a statement

that those killed included 1,873 children, 1,101 women, and 1,677 men.

It added that, of the total death toll, 839 had been killed in southern Gaza, to where people in the north have been told to flee.

The ministry also said that 14,245 people had been injured.
