Buhari Says He Delayed Petrol Subsidy Removal To Enable Tinubu Win

Immediate past President, Muhammadu Buhari has said that he delayed the petrol subsidy removal, to enable the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to win in the February 25, 2023 poll.

Buhari, in a statement by his media aide, Garba Sheu, said many opinion polls conducted shortly before the poll, had indicated that the APC would lose in the 2023 polls, if his admnistration totally removed the subsidy.

According to the former president, petrol subsidy removal on the eve of the 2023 general poll, would have been like adding petrol to the fire.

Tinubu announced the subsidy removal minutes after buhari handed over to him on may 29 at the eagles square, Abuja.
