Arsenal-owned Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo is enjoying his loan spell at English football league two club Wrexham.

NFF’s technical director Augustine Eguavoen has held multiple talks with Okonkwo and his representatives with a view to a potential call-up to the super eagles after the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Okonkwo spent last season on loan at Crewe Alexandra and Sturm Graz to experience a taste of first-team football, and he has built on his success with some brilliant performances for Wrexham this term.

Okonkwo produced a number of brilliant saves late in the game to ensure Wrexham picked up three points.

With his back-to-back clean sheets since making his comeback from injury, the arsenal loanee took his tally for the season to eight in all competitions.

The 22-year-old has conceded goals in seven of the fifteen matches he has played in since his loan move to the red dragons.

If Okonkwo maintains the form he has been showing over the last seventeen months, international recognition could come his way sooner rather than later.
