Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has said the partial demolition of former Governor Gbenga Daniel’s wife’s five story plaza, under construction in Ijebu Ode, was not politically motivated.

Abiodun said he does not even know that the building belong to the former governor, who is an All Progressive Congress (APC) Senator.

The Governor said he is not vindictive, and has not witch hunted anyone since he assumed office in 2019.

He, however, said in Ogun State, nobody is above the law, adding that the law which govern ordinary citizens also apply to the very important persons.

He said the owner of the partially demolished building, had been issued with several contravention notice by the state government, to stop work on the project, but ignored them.

According to the Governor, the owner, instead of complying with the directive, had continued work on the project in the nights, thinking he or she was above the law.

The Governor also alleged that the owner of the building even attempted to bribe officials, to overlook the contractor handling the project.
