45,000 Applicants Jostle For 2,000 OGUN TEACH Teaching Jobs

Thousands of applicants are jostling for the 2,000 new teachers to be recruited under OGUN TEACH internment program.

At least, 45,000 prospective teachers have applied to participate in the program, but only 2,000 of them would be picked for the jobs.

The State Education Commissioner, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, who made this known said 2,000 out of the applicants, who scaled through the screening exercise, would receive their letters of appointment by the end of April 2024.

The commissioner announced this while addressing the second term pre-resumption stakeholders meeting for the 2023/2024 academic session held at the Lisabi Grammar School, Idi Aba, Abeokuta.

He explained that the best applicants out of the 45,000 candidates would be chosen during the recruitment exercise.

He said for the first time in eight years, Abiodun administration employed 1,000 teachers, who were recently given permanent appointments.

Prof. Arigbabu also announced the plan by the Abiodun administration to give 10,000 scholarships to students from primary to tertiary level this year.

Also, the commissioner said arrangements are now in its final phase for holding the state’s first education summit.
