Ogun Female Football Team Wipes Counterparts from Adamawa State 5-0, In Their First Match at Asaba

Team Ogun Female Football Team on Sunday walloped counterparts from Adamawa State 5-0, in their first match at the ongoing seventh national youth games in Asaba, the delta state capital.

Damilola Adeyanju raised the goal tally with a hat-trick. Similarly, team Ogun also advanced in groups 9, 12, and 15 male table tennis event.

They qualified in the female category, 4 and 8 table tennis event. Also, the games which are being held at multiple venues kicked off last Saturday, and scheduled to end on September 30th, 2023.

An estimated 5,742 athlete’s fare participating in 35 different sports.

Also, he said, “One hundred and forty-one (141) athletes which comprise fifty-nine (59) Male and eighty-two (82) female will participate in twenty-five (25) Sports. We want to thank the Governor for the prompt release of funds for the games.

Meanwhile, “The athletes and their officials are in high spirits to do the state proud at the National Youth Games in Asaba”.

The twenty-five Sports are: Athletics, Ayo, Badminton, Boxing, Chess, Cycling, Darts, Football (Female), Golf, Gymnastics, Judo, Karate, Para Table Tennis, Rugby, Scrabble, Shooting, Squash, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Weightlifting, Wrestling, Para Athletics and Deaf Athletics.

The two hundred and fifty-five (255) contingent will depart Abeokuta for Asaba, Delta State on Wednesday 20th, September, 2023.
