Ogun Civil Servants Asked To Work with Public to Find Solution to Economic Challenges in the State

Civil servants in Ogun state have been asked to lease directly with members of the public to actualize the agenda of the Abiodun administration.

Working with the people, it stated would assist in providing solutions to challenges facing the country.

Kolawole Fagboun, the Head of the State Civil Service, issued the call during a retreat held in Ijebu Ode by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security for its management staff.

He emphasized to the management team that by collaborating with the public, they could assist staff under them in addressing challenges related to accessing single credit facilities and rural infrastructure to support farmers.

As the engine room of government, Fagboun said the Abiodun administration has been equipping them through seminars, symposia, and others to help in actualizing the policy pronouncement of political leaders.

Honorable Bolu Owto-Omo, the state agriculture and food security program coordinator, stated that the retreat aimed to brainstorm the best strategies for achieving food security in the state.

According to him, the management staff must achieve this through the Agric Value Chain, access to inputs, and by attracting youths and investors to the agriculture sector in the state.

Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Bolu Owootomo, emphasized that the retreat focused on increasing food production, establishing an effective agricultural value chain, ensuring access to inputs for farmers, and involving youth and women in agriculture.

Earlier, Mr. Samuel Adeogun, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, highlighted agriculture’s crucial role in the ISEYA agenda in the state.

He stressed the importance of informing management staff about their expectations and discussing Key Indicator Performance necessary for achieving food security and sufficiency during the retreat.
