Kwara Governor Says 170 Doctors Quit State Hospitals In Three Months

Governor Abduraman Abdurazak has expressed concern over the high rate of resignation of medical doctors from Kwara State’s public hospitals, in search of greener pasture.

He said that 170 medical doctors quit the hospitals within three months, mostly to other countries.

The governor expressed his concern, while commissioning a N350 million medical centre, within the Offa general hospital, built by Offa metropolitan club.

According to the governor, most of the medical doctors still in public hospitals were still staying behind, due to family ties.

The governor said it was challenging getting qualified medical doctors and paying them appropriate salaries.
