Nigerian Afrobeats singer Omorinmade Kuti, affectionately known as Made Kuti, exchanged vows with his Fiancee, Ideoiye Onyenso, on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.

The musician celebrated the special day by sharing a heartfelt video of the couple on his Instagram account.

In the endearing video, captured during a photoshoot, Made tenderly placed a crown on Ideoiye’s head, showering her with kisses and hugs, accompanied by a soothing violin melody in the background.

His Instagram caption read, “Today, a love story that began with two characters continues into one.

Let the adventure begin.” Meanwhile, his Twitter post added a touch of humor, stating, “Thankful we found each other.

Excited to spend the rest of my life with you. Today is for wedding food.”

Both the white wedding ceremony and the traditional wedding were held in Ikeja, Lagos state, and were intimate affairs attended by close friends and family.

Videos circulating on social media captured the touching moment when Ideoiye walked down the aisle, escorted by her beaming parents dressed in traditional attire.

During the wedding ceremony, Kuti and Ideoiye exchanged their vows, pledging to love each other until their last breath.

They signed their wedding certificate, and the event was streamed live on Instagram, delighting viewers.

Kuti had popped the question in a private proposal in Paris, France, in November 2022.

After receiving a positive response, he shared a photo of his blushing bride on Instagram with a heartfelt message: “There’s a lot of pain in the world every day. But sharing that pain and fighting for a better world with you makes it all worth living for. I can’t wait to see the future we build together. I love you.”

Congratulations to the newlyweds!

Speaking to Bella Naija during their wedding on November 1, 2023, the blushing bride revealed that they first met in secondary school, where Made was her “school father.”

They were close friends at the time but lost touch after graduation.

It wasn’t until seven years later, following Made’s return from London after completing his university studies, that they reconnected.

She shared, “We met in high school. Funny story. He was my schoolfather.

He was a very good schoolfather. We didn’t talk again after high school until much later, while I was in university.

After he graduated, we became Facebook friends first. Then, from Facebook friends, he came back to Nigeria in 2018. That’s when we began dating and here we are.”

Made corroborated their story, saying, “About seven years later, in 2018 like she said, I came back from Uni and had just graduated, and it picked up from there. We had history and a bright future, apparently,” with a wide smile on his face.

Their relationship endured for three years before they decided to tie the knot, and to make it even more special, their wedding took place on their third anniversary, November 1, 2023. Although a private affair, their wedding was streamed live on Instagram for all to share in their joy.
