AY Makun apologises to Davido for joking about his ‘small preek’
The veteran comedian AY took to his Instagram account to issue a comprehensive and heartfelt apology for the jokes he made about Davido during his recent performance in Warri.
Alongside his apology, he shared a picture of the superstar and two videos from his comedy shows.
In his caption, he openly acknowledged that his joke had been poorly received in a viral video and expressed sincere regret, acknowledging that it didn’t come across as funny as he had intended.
He wrote, “I am deeply sorry for the way that joke was delivered in Warri.
In fact, I shouldn’t even classify it as a joke anymore because it didn’t land as humorously as it did during my tours in the US and Canada.
I understand why people are upset after seeing how it was exploited by various blogs.”

The comedian also openly accepted the backlash he had faced for the poorly executed joke, emphasizing that he deserved it for his subpar delivery.
He emphasized that the entertainment industry is a continuous learning experience for everyone involved.
He humbly stated, “I accept any criticism or negative reactions that have come my way due to the poorly delivered joke in Warri.
There are no excuses on my part, and I take full responsibility for it. I want you all to know that, my aburo (brother), there is no justification for it.
I’m still your biggest fan, and I have great respect and love for you, @davido,” he concluded.
During his performance in Warri, AY had joked about Davido having multiple children despite his supposed “small preek,” while he himself had struggled for 13 years to conceive.
In response to the comedian’s apology post, Davido extended an olive branch, stating, “Nothing is amiss, Baba mi❤️,” signifying that there were no hard feelings and their relationship remained intact.
