A professor of agricultural economics, Adebayo Bamire has been appointed as the new vice chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
Professor Bamire is from the university’s faculty of agriculture.

His appointment will take effect from June 7, when the tenure of the existing VC expires.
Pro-chancellor of the institution, Owelle Oscar Udoji, on Thursday, announced the emergence of Bamire as the new VC, at a news conference on the campus.
He said that Bamire was picked as the 12th vice chancellor, out of 16 candidates who vied for the post.
