Zamfara Orders Shutdown Of Media Houses In Zamfara
Zamfara State Government has ordered the shutdown of several public and private radio and television stations in the State.
They are Nigerian Television Authority, Gusau, Gamji TV, Al-umimu TV, as well as Pride FM and Gamji FM.
Information commissioner, Ibrahim Dosara, said they were shut down on the order of the State security council for security reasons.
He accused the affecting radio and television of violating the order of the State Government and journalism code.

Meanwhile, the Government has directed the security agents to arrest any staff of the affected stations who tries to go into the stations to perform any duty.
The shutdown came two days after three local Government areas were lockdown to enable security forces fighting armed bandits on a fresh rampage in the state.
