Farmers who have benefitted from the N200m grant for basic healthcare provision funds have expressed their belief that the scheme would serve as a cushion against unaffordable health fees. The Young Farmers from OGUN State also commended the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun at the launch of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund and commencement of the Informal Sector Health Insurance Scheme, held at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, on Thursday. The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun speaking at the event, says that the formal take-off of the Health Insurance Scheme was another step towards capturing the all-important sector in social health safety. According to the governor, citizens need to live a healthy life before they can enjoy basic infrastructures. Beneficiaries of the scheme commend the governor’s effort to provide a good medical system for the farmers. Present at the events are farmers, traders, artisans, students, traditional rulers, civil servants among others.
