Yayi Asks Amosun to Name Those Who Apologised Over Ogun 2019 Poll

Ogun west APC senatorial candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan, alias Yayi, has accused Senator Ibikunle Amosun of being afraid of being retired from politics in the state, after the 2023 polls.

The senatorial candidate asks the APC national working committee to be wary of Amosun’s alleged anti-party activities in Ogun state.

Yayi also challenged Amosun to name the APC leaders who apologized to him over the alleged rigging of the state’s 2019 governorship poll which facilitated the election of Prince Dapo Abiodun.

The senatorial candidate in a statement issued on Sunday, accused Amosun of having an over-bloated ego of messianic proportion in the politics of Ogun state.

According to Yayi, the victory of Abiodun in the 2019 governorship poll was as a result of the alleged revolt of people of the state against the attempt by Amosun to impose all APC tickets for the 2023 polls to his cronies.

He said that genuine APC members are behind the second term bid of Abiodun.

Amosun speaking at the 50th anniversary of the Abeokuta Club at Kuto in Abeokuta on Friday, had alleged that Governor Abiodun was rigged into office during the 2019 governorship poll in the state.

The former governor also said that some of those rigged the poll had since came to apologize to him over the act.

The state APC had since faulted Amosun while Governor Abiodun said he will not be distracted by those playing God in Ogun state politics.
