Abidemi Rufai, the suspended Special Assistant to Governor Dapo Abiodun, has been jailed by a US Court, for wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.<\/p>\n
He was jailed for attempting to steal nearly $2.4 million from the US Government.<\/p>\n
The US district judge, Benjamin Settle, in his judgment said what motivated Abidemi were greed and callousness towards those who suffer.<\/p>\n
The US Attorney office of the western district of Washington D.C made this known in a statement by the US Attorney, Nick Brown.<\/p>\n
According to the statement, Rufai stole identities information of more than 20,000 Americans to submit more than $2 million claim for disaster benefits and fraudulent tax return.<\/p>\n
