Scores of students in Bauchi State\u2019s public secondary schools, have staged protests against the new policy, which separates female from male students in classrooms in public secondary schools.<\/p>\n
The protesing students abandoned classes on Monday morning, and marched across major streets in Bauchi metropolis.<\/p>\n
Under the new policy, female and male students will be in separate classes, and will not engage in extra curricular activities together.<\/p>\n
The State Education Commissioner, Doctor Aliyu Tilde, who announced the new policy on the BBC Hausa interview, says the first phase of the new policy will kicked off on Monday, in public schools in Jamare, Bauchi, Misau, Azare and Ningi.<\/p>\n
