World Cup: Ndidi Out of Super Eagles Ahead Of Clash With Black Stars

Wilfred Ndidi has sustained a medial ligament injury and may be ruled out of Nigeria’s world cup qualifying clash with the black stars of Ghana.

The super eagles will clash with the black stars in a week’s time at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi before hosting the Ghanaians four days later in Abuja.

Ndidi hobbled off in the 60th minute of Leicester’s 2-1 loss at Rennes and the foxes coach, Brendan Rodgers revealed that the midfielder may have damaged his ligament.

A medial ligament damage on average takes six weeks to heal according to research.

However, if not as bad as it currently looks, the player may be back in a week.

Chances of such happening are however tight considering Ndidi has faced similar problems in the past.

The super eagles have recently returned Oghenekaro Etebo and Frank Onyeka to pick for the games against Ghana. Ogenyi Onazi is also on the standby and may be drafted in for the games.

Ndidi has been one of the super eagles’ most important players since he got into the national team.
