Vehicle Loaded With Explosive Material Intercepted in Kano

A vehicle  loaded with Improvised Explosive Device (IED) materials have been intercepted in Kano state, as the Kano metropolis is yet to recover from last week’s gas explosion.

Police say they intercepted the vehicle at Bubbuaje quarters in Kubuntso local government area.

Apart from IED materials, police recovered from the vehicle, two AK-47 rifles, four AK-47 magazines, two pistols, as well as one thousand and ninety-eight rounds of live ammunition.

The state police commissioner, Sumaila Dikko, on Sunday said the vehicle loaded with the explosives was heading towards Jigawa state.

According to Dikko, police chased the vehicles which were later abandoned.

The police chief also said two arrests have been made in connection with last Tuesday’s gas explosion at Sabongari axis of Kano metropolis.

Nine persons, including students of the Winners Kids Academy died in the gas explosion.
