Varsity Prof Slumps During Trial For Alleged 2019 Polls Malpractices

A University of Uyo Professor, Ignatius Uduk, has slumped at the Akwa Ibom State High Court, while standing trial for an alleged electoral malpractices during the 2019 senatorial poll in the state.

The professor had served as the returning officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission during the poll.

He collapsed in the courtroom on Wednesday, while undergoing a cross examination by the prosecuting counsel.

The professor was rushed by his family to a hospital, before a stretcher was brought into the court.

This forced the court to go on a recess, and the case was adjourned till Thursday.
