Vandals Again Attack Agip Gas Pipeline

Vandals have set a major gas pipeline ablaze in Bayelsa state, a week after it was repaired.

The Ogboinbiri pipeline operated by Agip Nigeria was set on fire on Wednesday by vandals at Azukoro/Okaka axis of Yenagoa.

The fire was still raging on the pipeline as at Thursday evening.

Agip last week had announced the repair of the pipeline ruptured by vandals last march 28, disrupting flow of gas to the Nigeria liquefied natural gas limited plant in bonny.

Director of Oil Spills Detection and Response Agency, Idris Musa said the spate of attacks on oil and gas facilities in the area is becoming worrisome.
