Two Jailed 9 Years Imprisonment for Stealing in Ogun

An Abeokuta magistrate court in the Ogun state capital, has sentenced two adult men to 9 years imprisonment for stealing.

The convicts, Waris Shoga and Okiki Ojelabi who were docked on three count charges pleaded guilty to the crime.

The prosecutor, Inspector Olaide Rawlings, told the court that the convict committed the crime at rounder area in Abeokuta last month.

According to her, Waris Shoga, who was an ex convict,  was caught by Odua Peoples Congress “OPC” during their night patrol, with stolen items in his possession.

The stolen items included a map radio, one Itel phone, one Infinix phone, national identification card belonging to one Oriyomi Oluwaseyi,  a voter’s card,  and  GT Bank ATM card  belonging to one Mrs. Bello , Seven sim cards , eight wraps of Indian hemp, tablet drugs, and a Tecno phone.

The prosecutor said Waris Shoga confessed to have earlier sold a stolen tecno phone to his friend, Okiki Ojelabi who is also aware of the theft.

The magistrate, S.S Shotayo in his ruling,  says the prosecution has proven its case beyond reasonable doubt that the accused were guilty of the crime.

He therefore sentenced Waris Shoaga to seven years jail term and Okiki Ojebi  to two years imprisonment  without an option of fine .
